A practice test you can check.

PassLane exists because of one problem with free CDL practice tests: you cannot tell the good ones from the bad ones. Two sites give you opposite answers to the same question about air brake lag and neither says where the number came from. One of them is wrong, you have no way of knowing which, and finding out the hard way costs a test fee and another trip to the licensing office.

So every question here carries its receipt. The document it was written from, the section, the page and the date somebody last checked it against the current edition. If you think a question is wrong, you have everything you need to prove it, and we would rather you did.

How the site pays for itself

Ads beside the questions. That is all of it. There is no account, no email capture, no premium tier and nothing held back behind a payment. The practice tests will not be gated later either; if paid features ever exist they will be extras like ad-free browsing, never the questions themselves.

Who writes it

Every published question records the document and page it was read from, against the source document, and that name is stored with the question rather than hidden in a credits page. The editorial byline for the site is not published here yet; when it is, it will appear on this page and on the methodology page together.

What it is not

It is not your state's real test. Nobody outside the licensing agency holds that question pool, and any site claiming otherwise is guessing. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace your state handbook, which you should still read. What it does is drill the same federally-set material until the numbers stick.
