There is no sign-up on this site, so there is no name, email address or password to hold. What follows is the whole of it, in plain terms.

The one cookie we set

When you start a practice test we set a single cookie holding a random id. It exists so that a test you are part-way through survives a refresh, a lost signal or a closed tab, and so that only you can see your own result page. It is not linked to anything about you, it is encrypted, and it lasts 400 days. Clear it and the only thing you lose is access to tests you had in progress.

What we record about an attempt

The questions you were asked, the option you picked for each, how long each answer took, and a one-way hash of your IP address used only to stop one machine starting hundreds of tests an hour. Completed attempts are deleted after twelve months, abandoned ones within a week. Nothing about an attempt is sold or shared.

Advertising

The site is paid for by ads. Our advertising partner sets its own cookies and can see the pages you view here, in the same way it does across most of the web. Where the law requires it, a consent banner appears before any of that runs and your choice is respected. We never pass anything of our own to an advertiser.

Analytics

One analytics tag records page views and rough traffic sources so we know which material is being used. It does not identify you and we do not attempt to join it to anything else.

Your choices

You can clear cookies at any time, block them, or use the site with JavaScript switched off entirely: every practice test works without it. A contact address for privacy questions will be published on the contact page.
